January 2014 Her Fashion Box review!

Hi Lovelys,

Today my January 'Her Fashion Box' arrived at my house. To say it brought me pure joy, is an understatement! If you don't know about Her Fashion Box (HFB) then where have you been girl??

You can order it online here. A monthly subscription costs $39.95 and you can choose from 'classic', 'trendy' or 'feminine', I get the feminine one (although I have thought about buying more than one subscription so I can try them all).

Lets get to the good stuff!

My January 2014 Her Fashion Box! As usual it comes in a pink cardboard outer box. On the reverse side are my address details.

And inside is the gorgeous black Her Fashion Box! Yay, so excited to open this one :)

Pink! I really enjoy opening HFB - the devil is in the detail and they definitely exceed my expectations!

Fashion! January Her Fashion Magazine. The HFM gives you all the details of your box, as well as the other boxes (Trendy & Classic).

All my HFB goodies :)

J Bronze Tan. I had not heard of The J Bronze brand before and I'm not an avid tanner. I have slightly lighter than olive skin so I tan easily and have never really used fake tan before. In the box I received one 5mL sample of 'Face - Flawless Tan' and two samples of 'shimmer- instant illumines'. I'm probably more excited about the Shimmer product, as I can see myself using this.

Also when you spend $50 at adoretanning.com you get $20 off for being a HFB subscriber....cool!

These sachets will be perfect for travelling.

Every box also received a notebook from Cantik Swimwear, valued at $19.95. I'm a SUCKER for stationary and I do love a new notebook! This little baby has found a good home with me :)

Personalised with HFB on the front cover. All the other pages are blank.

We also get to sample some 'Muesli For Me' from the aptly named 'muesliforme.com.au'. And get a 20% discount for your first month (not sure how you order, if its like a subscription?? I'll have to investigate). I love sprinkling some muesli on my yoghurt but can't just eat muesli for breaky.

I'm excited to try this out. A special HFB mix has been devised, including; naughty and nice base, goji berries, coconut, cranberries, seed mix and chia seeds. Sounds YUM!

I don't have any info on this Ultra 3 lipstick. Mine is in the colour 001 cherry wine. Maybe its a bonus for completing the survey?? I really don't know. I don't really wear lippy, but you know what, I'm just going to give it a try. In 2014 I might become the girl who wears lipstick!

I FREAKING LOVE THIS SCARF. Have I said it all there? I was SO excited when I saw this in the box. SO excited. Its lightweight, large and great quality. I can def see myself wearing this.

I put my hand underneath so you can see that you can see how sheer it is. I'm going to Paris later in the year and I'm going to be taking this little baby with me.

What's in this little pocket of fun??

Oh hello! Its just my mini manicure set. I'm going to keep this bad boy in my car glovebox. This is such a cute and handy little kit. The quality feels great and I'm very excited to have it in my HFB.

You are all going to think I sound like a broken record, but I love this lip balm and think its so cute. The tin is just precious.

I've had this balm on for a few hours now and it feels quite thin on my lips and I can't really smell the passionfruit. I'm going to keep using it to see if it grows on me.

This coin purse is uber cute and I'm going to use it to store my earrings when I'm travelling.

I was so NOT excited to see these Green Smoothie Co sachets again. Please don't let these be the new 'model co' prostituting yourself out to all the beauty boxes. I didn't like them last time and I don't like them this time.

This was the feminine necklace for this month, it is ok, looks to be good quality and the length is great. I will def try to push some of my own personal boundaries and wear this one. I really loved the look of the classic necklace, and would have loved to receive it, but overall I'm happy with my choice of the feminine HFB.

I think last month some of the crystals pieces came off necklaces, so good job & great attention to detail HFB! The necklace as you can see came bubble wrapped. Thank you :)

Babe No. 3 Pink Salt Scrub. There were three different options in this months box, Pink Salt Scrub, Green Tea & Coffee. I'm glad I got the pink salt one as the others don't appeal to me. Looking forward to trying this one, although I might put it in the bath and soak instead of using it as a rub/scrub.

The verdict : I'm very impressed by this months Her Fashion Box, it cost me $39.95 including postage and I think I got way more than my moneys worth. I like the idea of beauty/fashion boxes because they take me out of my comfort zone and give me beauty products and accessories that I wouldn't normally try.

Yay for HFB!!

Priceline mini haul

Hi Guys!

My mini haul from Priceline arrived on Tuesday! Yay! I paid for express shipping, so I knew it would get here fast! I ordered the Scholl Velvet Smooth Electric Foot File (its as gross to use as it sounds), a replacement head and three packs of mascara brushes (PL had a special, buy 2, get 3). You guys know I'm ALL about the details! And that I always show you how my goodies are packaged and sent (because I think thats really important)

Express Post! Yay! So excited to open up this box and see all my goodies!

How cute is their "Mwah! Thanks for shopping with us." sticker? The box is securely fastened (take notes Bellabox!).

Some air packages to make sure my goodies don't bounce around.

I had heard a lot of good things about the Scholl Velvet Smooth Electric Foot File and I was keen to try it out for myself, as I have pretty yucky heels. I had originally ordered it from ePharmacy for $29.99, which was a GREAT special, but obviously lots of other people thought it was a great special and they had run out. I'll blog about that tomorrow. Priceline had these bad boys on special for $39.99 and they are usually $49.99 (seeing as if I get a pedicure it can cost me $40, I thought it was worth a try). I also bought a replacement head, as I wanted to give it a fair trial.

Here it is, in its neat little package. Be sure to check your packaging before you throw it away (I found the plastic cover in mine! Whoopsi!)

Surprisingly the packaging was easy to open. The back just popped out. Yay, I don't know about you my usually I struggle to open those plastic packets AND the trick of using a can opener doesn't work for me.

Replacement heads - This way I can give them a fair trial. You can buy the Velvet smooth products from Priceline here. I don't know when their $10 off promotion ends... I liked buying it from Priceline as I'm a member of their Sister Club and purchasing through them helps me to earn a voucher to spend in store.

The next on my list of things to order was some Manicure disposable mascara brushes. I originally had seen them in my May Bellabox. Now I don't use these for putting on mascara. I use them to clean my hairbrush! I have quite long, dark, brown hair and it gets everywhere, I haven't found a way that gets my hair out of my brush any better. Priceline had a great deal, buy 2 of certain products and get one free (so you got 3 for the price of 2). I'll post an blog and some before and after pics of my hairbrush soon.

Are you a Priceline shopper? Do you do as much online shopping as me?? Let me know in the comments below!

TonI & Guy giftpack - Woolworths

I get my shopping delivered each week from Woolworths Online & I love that I can also get beauty & hair products delivered! I'm always on the look out for discounted or special items. Last week I saw they had some gift packs from Rexona, Lynx and also Toni & Guy - I used to LOVE their shampoos & conditioners, but then the products changed and I never went back to them. I'm searching for the perfect shampoo & conditioner at the moment and I leaped at the chance to try a mini sized version (so I didn't have to splurge on large bottles).

The pack cost me $16 (they were 20%) off.

The pack contained a dry shampoo, shampoo, conditioner, texturising spray and a small clutch mirror.

It's packed really nicely!

All the products laid out.

I think the mirror is so cute! I'm going to keep it in my handbag for sure!

A different view.

I'm really happy with this little pack, I'll be able to use the pouch again. I'm in love with the lining! I'm going away next weekend, so I think I'll take this with me!

Do you use Toni & Guy products? What do you think of them? Let me know in the comments below!

Bella Box - Not impressed

I have recently cancelled my Bella Box - yes, I know it's only $15 a month, but it really was getting crappy. I may have been a little bit rash and maybe it will improve?? I used to love the boxes that the items came in and even if there was only one item I liked, well at least it was packaged nicely!

Before I cancelled I had almost 200 points in the BB shop, because I didn't have over 200, I could only spend 100 of them (need to spend them in groups of 100 =$10). I decided to buy a translucent face powder (because I needed one) and an item from the last months Box (because it got me free shipping).

So I ordered the MeMeMe Flawless Pressed Face Powder (Translucent) which was $25.95 and Timeless Truth Deep Sea Extract Moisturising Mask which was $8.00. If I didn't have the moisturising mask I would have had to pay $8.95 for shipping. After my $10 discount I paid $23.95.

I'm kind of miffed that I have 96 points that I can't use because I would have to buy something else to get my next $10 discount, and that won't likely be happening as I have now cancelled my box. Actually now that I go back and check my order history, no points have been awarded (should have been 15 a month) since Feb this year, and I've been getting one BellaBox a month all year.... I'm following that up with them, I'll let you know how it goes!

Firstly the packaging - not impressed. As you'll see down below my times are really small and could have easily been lost or stolen out of this box. While I appreciate there would be LOTS of orders going out all the time, if you're going to send beauty products out in a box like this then please for the love of God Bella Box TAPE UP THE GAPS. Sheesh!

Not impressed : (

Not good enough!!!

I could easily stick my finger in this hole and pull out the contents.

Mask and powder.

I do love a cloth mask and I can't wait to try this one out. I think with the stresses about the end of the year, I'll wait until I've stopped to treat myself to this one.

I've been looking for a translucent powder to set my make up (which I don't wear everyday) for a while. I'm happy to try this one out because it was relatively inexpensive. I'll let you know what its like in a later blog : )

I'm sad to finish up getting my BellaBoxes, as they used to bring me such joy, maybe they will improve? Let's hope so! How are you guys feeling about BellaBox atm? Let me know by commenting below!

Adore Beauty HAUL!

I adore adorebeauty.com.au. Not only do they have a great range of products, but they offer free shipping within Australia! YAY. One of my pet hates is having to pay for shipping, I'm always on the look out for special deals or minimum buys so I can get my goodies shipped to me for free!

Ok, so Adore Beauty had a coupon available (now expired) which gave you 10% off. I was planning on buying some of these items anyways, so it was a GREAT deal for me :)

The box everything is packaged in is sturdy and strong.

No gaps or gapes here (take notice Bella Box!).

I ordered a tub of SK-II Stem Power 80g and the price was $200. I really love the SK-II range, and my skin is clear and glowing when I use it, I've tried to avoid the high price tag of using a premium product, but I just can't get results like this!

I was also lucky to get a gift with purchase, I'm pretty sure this is a christmas gift offer only. You had to spend at least $149 to get this gift, and you had a choice of 'stem power' or 'cellumination'. The gift pack looks amazing, and I'm going to be taking it on holidays with me early next year.

The bag that the gift came in was really good quality and I will be using this to keep all my travel sized products with me when I go travelling (where else). The zip and lining are both really nice too. I'm so sick of getting junky bags with free gifts that I just throw out, its nice to be able to use something again!

I also bought a shampoo and conditioner. I've been wanting to try a different range of products. I've been using Goldwell products from my hairdresser, but i'm not 100% happy with them, so I though I'd do some experimenting.

The conditioner is O&M Maintain the Mane Conditioner and it cost $29.95. I've used it twice and its fine, but I'm not in love with it, we'll see how I go.

I've heard really good things about Kevin Murphy. I though I would try his shampoo, Angel Wash (how cute) and that cost $32.95. I haven't used this one yet, so I can't tell you how amazing it is : ) or if I have been transformed into a heavenly being.

I'm really into dry shampoos, as my hair gets really oily and I've been holding off washing for a few months now for 2 or 3 days (I only go for 3 if I'm not going out!!). At the moment I'm using a Batise dry shampoo and while it does a good job, it sometimes makes my hair feel grainy or sandy. Again I had heard REALLY good things about this dry shampoo. I did try it out yesterday, and I think I just need to get used to using a different brand. The "Fresh Hair" was $32.95.

Adore Beauty also always give you samples (much love!) oh, and a Tim Tam, which sadly did not make it long enough to be in this photo : ) It was JUST what I needed after a very long day at work!!

I'll be brining you more reviews soon, as I've been doing quite a bit of christmas shopping (all for me) lately! I paid for all products myself and these are my honest opinions.
